Summer Holiday Programme News

We are delighted to announce that Compton Verney are hosting a two day holiday club on the grounds of The Clearing . Joining us shall be members of Shipston Youth Club who we met last year during the Light Up Project at Compton Verney.

The two days are full of outdoor activities which involve discovering what it might take to survive in the future should we find ourselves without electricity (No Phones?!! No XBox?!! No Netflix?!!), or perhaps without our usual food supplies (No Nandos!?! No McDonalds?!?). But alas, here you will have the chance to make Pizza in a Cob Oven, built from sand clay and straw and learn how to effectively start a fire to cook the Pizza. There are also plenty of opprtunities to learn a ton of other survival related things over the course of our two day trip in to what could be the future….!

Join us on Saturday the 19th and Sunday 20th August.

Transport Provided

Cost: £10.00

Wellesbourne Street Fayre

This years theme at The Wellesbourne Street Fayre was Nursery Rhymes and Fairytales. Our members came up with the theme of Red Riding Hood and busily spent a few sessions creating some fantastic decorations in order to bring together a spectacular display on the day.

On offer were cakes and goodies made by the members  a game to find Grandmas House with a generously donated prize for the winner of a Kindle Fire HD! Congratulations to the Isla OB who won the prize!

We would like to thank all of those who took part, volunteered and visited us during the day. We raised a humble £80.00 which will go towards our much needed funds to support the Services running costs.

Hope to see you all again next year!

Banquet Charity Fundraising Success!

Thanks to all of the hard work put in by two members of our Management Committee Team a thoroughly fun and entertaining evening was had by all out Wellesbourne’s local Curry House, Shah’s. Audrey Spriggs who became a fully fledged member of our team just short of six months ago brought together over one hundred people to celebrate and raise money for us at Wellesbourne Youth Services.

Nick Whale, a local business man and valued member of our Management Committee generously donated some wonderful raffle prizes which included a romantic meal for two at a local Restaurant and a hot air balloon ride with champagne for two (rrp £500).

The evening was a huge success with a total of £1145.00 being raised. Proceeds are being put towards vital running costs for Wellesbourne Youth Services.

We would like to also thank  the young people for providing the entertainment in the style of some brilliant Indian themed dancing, choreographed by the young people. Also a great thanks to SHAH’S Restaurant  for hosting and last but definitely not least a huge thank-you to Amrit Kalyan from The British Asian Business and Professionals Association for generously providing some wonderful Indian costume.
